What Goes into A Great About Me Page?
1. Grab the Reader's Attention
You only have a couple of seconds to grab the reader’s attention and sell yourself.
So, you need to make those couple of seconds count as much as possible. Therefore, you need something bold right at the beginning of your about me section that is going to want the reader to continue reading.
This can be one or two sentences that will make the reader go “hmm” and agree with what you said.
Therefore, it needs to identify with your target audience in your niche. You can even open up with a thought-provoking question that is going to engage your audience.
2. Add a Photo of Yourself
Please, please, please, do not forget to put a happy photo of yourself on your blog page! Remember that you are your brand at the end of the day, and people want to see your face so that you can feel connected to you!
You are the face behind your business. So, don't be afraid to flash a warm smile and draw people with it. The key is to make the reader feel welcomed into your community!
3. Look at Your Formatting
One crucial factor that you need to keep in mind is that a lot of the time, people are going to be looking at your blog and reading through your content on their phones. Therefore, you need to make your content as readable as possible.
And that means using short paragraphs that are straight to the point. I suggest using anywhere from 2 – 3 sentences at max per section. This will allow the reader to skin through the content with ease.
4. Incorporate Storytelling
Storytelling is a crucial marketing tool that all brands use to elicit the emotions of their consumers. Therefore, if you can tell a story about yourself and why you are starting your blog, you should do so.
You want the story to be relatable to your audience as much as possible. Therefore, think about how they would feel when they read your story and tailor it to making them think in a specific way.
The goal is to make your audience feel like they can connect with you on a personal level without ever meeting you.
5. What Can You Do For Them?
Again, blogging is your business, and you are the brand/product that you are selling. Therefore, what will you be giving them that will help them and provide them with a solution they are looking for?
If you want, you can try and put a call to action somewhere that will allow the reader to feel motivated and feel like they can follow you for advice.
Other Important Points
Now that we know what elements we should add, we know a few more things before we head over to our examples. Let's Take a look:
- Write in the first person.
- Don't ramble on; keep it short and sweet.
- Be as humble as possible.
- Use your voice as much as possible and keep the tone the same as how you would for the rest of the content on your blog –consistency is critical.
10 Best Blog About Me Examples
Okay, now, my friends, now that we have that out of the way, let's get right into some blog about me examples that will give you some inspiration before you write your own!
1. Marie Forleo

If you know me, you know that I absolutely love Marie Forleo. She is, hands down, one of my favorite bloggers.
I want to bring her bio up first because she doesn't go along with the typical format that we just spoke about. Her bio is a little different. However, it works. She starts her bio off with who she is, but also what she can do for you.
Now typically, you wouldn't advise starting your blog this way. However, if anyone is allowed to do it, is it Marie (no bias here).
At the end of the day, her message is super powerful, and it cuts right to the chase. This is who I am, and this is what I can do for you.
2. Derek Halpern, aka Social Triggers

Derek Halpern is the face behind the popular blog called Social Triggers, which is a marketing and entrepreneur blog. He focuses on helping businesses with their marketing and expansion.
If you look at his about me page, it is listed in the form of a FAQ page that you would find on an actual website, which I think is very clever.
Once you scroll down his about me page, you are then hit with a section called “what to expect,” which basically details what he will be able to do for you with his content, which I think is super powerful and creative.
3. The Middle Finger Project

If you are looking for boss babe women content, you should definitely be subscribing to the Middle Finger Project.
I love Ashley's about me page because it gets right to the point “this is what we do, and this is how we can help you.” She doesn't embellish anything; it's very straightforward and super bad girl boss-type vibes, which I absolutely love.
4. A Cup of Jo

I love a Cup of Jo because she starts off her about page with a story from when she was a little girl and goes through the significant points in her life, such as her education, where she has worked, what she has done, and her family.
She also features all of her feature writers on there as well, which I think is very special.
5. Color Me Courtney

I love Color Me Courtney’s about me page because it is super straight forward and details a lot of her life. She details her career endeavors, why she started her blog and gives a bit of information about her family, such as her little French bulldog named Waffles.
She also has cute little graphics throughout her blog that gives line tidbits of information, which is super unique.
6. Travels of Adam

Travels of Adam is a blog about traveling the world with, you guessed it, Adam! Although he has a long story bio on his about me page, he also has a cool little bubble at the end of his story and what his blog is about that is just about him.
It has about 5 sentences and details who he is, what he is about, where he has traveled to, and links them to specific posts that he is trying to get the reader to go read.
7. A Plastic-Free Life

A Plastic-Free Life is an environmental blog that is run by a woman named Beth Terry. Her bio is also entirely on the longer side of bios as it goes through her life, accomplishments, book, and link to her Ted Talk.
While there is a lot of information present on her page, she does an excellent job of separating the information into small paragraphs that make it easier for the reader to jump from topic to topic.
8. Cookie and Kate

Cookie and Kate is a blog about Kate and her dog Cookie!
I love her bio because not only does she indicate why she started her blog and tells the reader a bit about herself, but also because she adds in a FAQ section at the end where the reader can get more information about her and why she started her blog which I think is pretty unique.
9. Say Yes

Say Yes is an award-winning blog that is run by Liz Stanley.
Again, although her about me page is super in-depth, she also has this fantastic little about box at the top and center of her about page that gives the reader just enough information about who she is and what the purpose of her blog is without having to read through all the other paragraphs if they don’t want to.
10. Addicted 2 DIY

Addicted 2 DIY is run by a woman named Kate, who obviously blogs about DIY. Her About Me page is also very well done as it is super friendly and inviting. She also goes through her story and introduces her family and why she started the DIY blog.
Take a look down below to see how she has structured this! She also uses a bit of humor by letting the audience know that she is afraid of snakes but no other critters, which is random, but it works. Take a look:
