Toonly Drawbacks: What Needs To Be Better?
Let me say it again:
Toonly is not perfect. There are plenty of drawbacks that one must consider before buying.

1. The first step is to add a background that you can do either from the available library or upload your own.
Choose the “Background” tab in the left side menu and then drag-and-drop the one you like over to the canvas.

The main difference between Toonly vs PowToon is that PowToon is a cloud-based solution, whereas Toonly requires a software download.
If you don’t have a powerful machine or are always on the go, PowToon can be of more help as you can log in from any device as long as you have the internet. You can use PowToon on mobile or tablet devices too as it’s platform-independent.
However, it also means that you need a high-speed internet connection at all times to use PowToon. With Toonly, you can just get by with a limited speed internet connection which is used for syncing.
PowToon also has a larger library of pre-made templates that look more professional and business-focused. You can also change the color of clothes or other items which aren’t possible with Toonly.
On top of that, PowToon lets you add these custom characters to the library so you can re-use them in the future.
PowToon also has a free trial which allows you to take it for a spin without a subscription. Toonly doesn’t offer this.
One major drawback though is that you can’t add subsequent actions to a character when the previous action is completed. This is something Toonly can easily do.
PowToon is also comparatively a lot of costlier and limited. The base plan starts at $89 per month which is more than double Toonly’s base plan.
And it allows only 5 premium exports per month and 2GB cloud storage. Export is also limited to a maximum of 10 min video length and Full HD (1080p) resolution.
